Description

Pair of stringmail chausses, with leather foot sole, accompanied with coif head covering, and shirt which is fastened on the back by riveted leather straps. Originally came from Berman and Nathans / Angels of London. These would have been used in many productions that required the use such things and when in constant use are unlikely to have names written inside. Faux mail has been used in stage and screen for over 6 decades, from Braveheart, Prince of Thieves, Ivanhoe, to even Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Consequently it can be hard to date.
