Hugh Lupus, Earl of Chesters Livery. Personal shield.
White Lion Rampant, on Red background. Unknown Earl.
The episode featured the historical event known as The Council of Clipston.
Where King Richard I Convened his Earls and Barons to swear fielty.
This shield bears wear probably gained from storage and being used in numerous other productions.
Paint has worn to reveal the original paint scheme underneath, light blue, which suggests it
begun life as a Nottingham shield for the first few episodes of Series One.
