A severed head used in the Irish horror-comedy Grabbers. Ciarán O'Shea (Richard Coyle) is a drunken Garda on a lonely Irish island. When his boss heads off for a holiday, he is left in the care of Garda Lisa Nolan (Ruth Bradley), not realising that she is not the only newcomer on the island – they’ve also been joined by the horrific Grabbers!
This head once belonged to the island’s doctor, Jim Gleeson (Pascal Scott) and can be seen when Ciarán and Lisa find the massive adult monster looming outside the pub. Jim walks out, not realising the beast is there, and is promptly eaten – his head spat out by the beast, landing at their feet. Made from a lifecast of the actor, the head features glass eyes, realistic teeth and spine bone and immaculately punched hairs to accurately replicate Jim’s horrified look as he was killed. The paint finish accurately replicates skin texture and hues, with blood-like stains around the neck where the head was bitten off.
