I just completed this custom designed, scratch-built, prop. It is a sci-fi "near future" sidearm be carried by Earth explorers as they reach out into the unknown of deep space. Essentially, the sleek, dynamic, little pistol is (fictionally) a muliti-terawatt laser. Nothing fancy, no power settings, no stun function, just burning hot laser energy. The prop is has a machined aluminu body with a scratch-built plastic grip assembly. When fired the pistol emits a soft 'laser whine' sound effect and a red laser beam. The pistols also feature a pair of powerful neodium magnets in the grips, allowing the pistol to be attached to a carrier strap hanging from the wearer's belt.
I actually built two versions, Model-A & Model-B. Essentially the same design, they feature different beam emitter configurations, differently shaped ribbed grips, and grip assemblies that are located differently in relation to the main body tube. The differences are enought to make each prop a 'one of a kind' item. One (the Model-B) unit is staying in my personal props collection, the other will be offered on eBay for any collector or COSPLAYer who might want it.
