This is the screen-matched hero glaive used in the iconic blood rave scene from Blade, wielded on screen by Wesley Snipes.
The screen match is supported by several distinct, production-specific details:
Leather tape placement – The leather wrapping is glued in place and cannot shift. Its exact positioning aligns perfectly with what is seen on screen.
Blade holes – The holes are clearly handmade. On the left side, one hole transitions from smaller to slightly larger, matching precisely with the filmed prop.
Center bolt – The hero glaive features a unique central bolt, including visible rust patterns that correspond to the on-screen version.
This glaive was exhibited at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in 2009, alongside a screen-matched Deacon Frost sword and a screen-matched Blade hero costume. These props were supplied to the venue by New Line Cinema.
For comparison, another metal glaive sold through Propstore in March 2026 does not match the screen-used hero:
The leather wrapping differs in both placement and appearance
It lacks the central bolt
It is a static piece, whereas the hero glaive is foldable
The leather positioning is inconsistent with the filmed version
The left-side hole is incorrectly sized
Based on these discrepancies, that example cannot be screen-matched to the film. In my opinion, it was likely produced for promotional purposes such as marketing appearances or photo shoots featuring Wesley Snipes in costume as Blade rather than for actual on-screen use.
