Investigating a cult in northern India, Dr. Jones fights for his life against a Thuggee guard, hampered by the young Maharajah Zalim Singh, who under the influence of the Black Sleep repeatedly stabs a magical 'kryta' or fetish doll crafted in Indy's likeness, incapacitating him with each thrust of the needle.
