Original prop tricycle from the classic THE ADDAMS FAMILY (Filmways 1964-66) television show, as used by Wednesday (Lisa Loring) and Gomez (John Astin) on the series. Seen here ridden by Astin in episode #48, MORTICIA'S DILEMMA. An old Hollywood prop house 'rental unit' for 50+ years, I purchased this piece out of ELLIS PROPS and GRAPHICS when they sold their assets in 2000. Today the trike sports red paint from use in an unknown later production, but the old silver paint is still evident underneath. The old "Addams" silver paint is still intact on the handlebars, etc. and there is old silver overspray in hidden areas, as is the original "Ellis" rental label with stock nimber. The reuse and retooling of prop house props was the norm back in the day, and this trike would have also been used in dozens of other productions in its decades of rentals.
