TITANIC - 100% ORIGINAL “LIFEBOAT PLAQUE”. Such plaques were used on the prop lifeboats to indicate boat dimensions and passenger capacity (64 persons). These props were made out of plaster-like resin material and painted to give the impression of being a steel plate. This plaque was used in the production as is evident by the rust around the screw holes and paint that has been, in part, washed-off due to constant immersion in water. The lettering on the plaque is intentionally reversed so the filmed image could later be flipped as required for different side-shots. The plaque comes straight out of Fox’s Prop Archives. It remains a highly-prized collectible.
