The Headpiece to the staff of Ra. Made from scratch, this one is the 1st generation casting from the famous Ravenbar Headpiece from the movie. It is well known that they've used two different props which differs in many ways. Cast in Pewter, 22karat Gold-Plated, set with genuine Austrian topaz coloured Swarovski crystals: This reproduction of the Ra Headpiece looks like it belongs in a museum! One of the most important and most discussed props featured in the Raiders of the Lost Ark, able to pinpoint the final resting place of the lost Ark of the Covenant. When the headpiece was placed in a particular position in the Map Room, the sun would shine through the crystal and reveal the location of the Well of the Souls, the final resting place of the Ark. Also seen is Marion's Ra Headpiece Chain. It features a brass chain with hooks on each ending, two precious stones and an original chinese coin. This new version actually have brass hooks at either end of the chain; these two hooks pass through the headpiece and reattach to just below each stone. The idea behind the chain was that everyone who was in possession of the chain would put something of his valuable property on it. So we see the whole rise of the chain through the centuries and the continents. The original chain (or even several chains - there were three different ones) is in possession of Curator Richard.
