After 42 years since it was first seen on screen, here the first ever accurate replica of the BATHROOM BUDDY, from Gremlins (1984) !
This prop is one of the most recognizable of the whole film, featured as a runing-gag in several scenes throughout the movie.
According to Rand Peltzer, portrayed by the late Hoyt Axton, the Bathroom Buddy is ment to revolutionize the world of travelling.
I built this prop from scratch, with 250+ hours of 3D modelling with low reference picts,countless hours of search for accurate vintage parts, work, assembly, etc...
It includes a vintage Revlon toenail clipper with the hard-to-find accurate design, a Johnson&Johnson dual type dental floss cutter, an orange butler proxabrush holder, a Gillette twin blade disposable razor, a GUM 411 toothbrush, a Revlon nail file, a dental mirror and a Hercules Sagemann hard rubber comb.
All those parts are vintage NOS hard-to-find items, the dental mirror is professional modern and hand painted. The rest are custom-made parts, including : a laser cut mirror on a 3D printed ABS plate, with trimmed and tinted fur to have the exact patern, a prophy cup holder, sanded and painted with 3 printed prophy cups with the accurate design, 2 printed black thumbscrews sanded and painted, a printed orange button, real toothbrush cap and cream 3D printed body.
Everything was made with huge attention and care to details based on the screen used prop.
This is trully a unique prop, never seen before in the world of replica collectibles, and I'm really proud to be able to offer it.
