Description

An original copy of a rending of the Tennis Court Riddle used in the production of the 1995 Joel Schumacher film, Batman Forever. In this action packed sequel, Val Kilmer dons the black cape in his one and only outing at Batman. This time around, Bruce Wayne/Batman must save Gotham from a diabolical plan set forth by Harvey 'Two-Face' Dent (Tommy Lee Jones) and Edward 'The Riddler' Nygma (Jim Carrey). The tennis court riddle, which the rendering depicts, is left with an incapacitated Bruce Wayne after the Riddler's assault on Wayne Manor.   The rendering has been printed on four sheets of ledger paper that have been taped together. At the top of the rendering are four boxes, each depicting a function of the box. Below the 4 images is a much larger color rendering of the tennis court with the beginning of the riddle displayed: We're Five Items of an Everyday Sort." Below the tennis court, the side panels fall flat to reveal a tank that presumably powers the mechanics of the device. Near the bottom right panel, is the signature of the illustrator: James Carson.   Although some of the tape has broken, this rendering still holds together as one unit. It does feature some wear and wrinkles from production use and age.   I'm always on the hunt for Riddler items, feel free to leave a comment or check out my other items :)
