Richard Amsel's original painting for the 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' re-release poster was sold to Steven Spielberg via a Christie's auction in 1987, the same auction where George Lucas acquired the initial one-sheet art in a "gentleman's agreement" with Spielberg. The original of the re-release art will very likely remain in the private collection of Steven Spielberg for the foreseeable future.
This high-resolution giclée was printed the EXACT size as Richard Amsel's original painting, approximately 27" x 20". (Pictured below is Steven Spielberg in his office with the 'Raiders' guys; the framed art behind him is a smaller than original giclée print).
In addition, our giclée of Amsel's first RAIDERS poster art is also viewable here on YourProps.
