A ‘Red Devil’ grenade used in the war time romance film Captain Corelli's Mandolin, staring Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz. This type of grenade was used by the Italian Army during World War II.
These grenades were used in the background when Corelli (Cage) hands over the contents of the armoury to the Greek resistance.
Made from silicone, the small grenade is cylindrical and has been painted red and silver to resemble metal, with a black plastic cap that can be flipped over.
Measures 8cm x 4cm (3” x 1.5”).
