Will Vinton Studios produced a series of popular Claymation commercials for the CALRAB (California Raisin Advisory Board) with Ray Charles, The Tempations and Michael Jackson. Ray sang the refrain of the campaign's theme song, I Heard It Through The Grapevine. "Ray Charles was a natural for the spot because he, like the Raisins, epitomizes the meaning of cool," CALRAB director Robert Phinney said. This is a Raisinette stop motion puppet used in the 1988 Ray Charles and the California Raisins Commercial.
