Description

DON BLUTH STUDIO All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989) three (3) original production animation cel paintings gouache on three (3) 13.5" x 16.5"untrimmed animation cel sheets, image size: 9.5" x 14.5" These three (3) matching hand-painted animation cels of Anne-Marie, Itchy Itchiford, Kate and Harold were created in the Don Bluth Studio ink-and-paint department and photographed together during the making of the animated feature. The cels appear in a scene during the Anne-Marie's initial meeting with Kate and Harold, who eventually adopt her. John Pomeroy, one of the principals of the Don Bluth Studio and directing animator of Charlie, Itchy, Carface and King Gator, boldly signed the (top) cel of Kate and Harold. The film tells the story of Charlie an underworld canine who is murdered by his former partner Carface yet foregoes his spot in Heaven and returns to Earth where he finds redemption in aiding the sweet orphan girl Anne-Marie. Itchy is his loyal pal, and whereas Charlie is taken to his final reward at film's end, Itchy remains to be Anne-Marie's companion in her new life with Kate and Harold. Studio designations "150 170 H-5", "150 170 A-5" and "150 170 S-5" are written along the bottom of the sheets to indicate each cel's place in the film. Our certificate of authenticity is included. There is a small paint fleck in the sole of Harold's shoe that is barely noticeable because the shoe is backed by the shadow color on the cel below: VERY FINE condition.
