It is little known that the screenplay for Shakespeare in Love (1998) was intended to be filmed many years earlier starring Richard Burton. In those days the film's title was "Shakespeare and His Many Woman". It was a Dino De Laurentiis project. However, the film failed to raise the money necessary for production and the screenplay was sidelined for a number of years before being brought to life again in the late 90s. The art seen here is from the original attempt. The concept painting is from three-time Oscar Award-winning production designer John DeCuir, Sr.. This scene shows The Globe theater burning.
