This richly ornate 31” time scepter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993) serves as the key plot device in the film, transporting April O’Neil (Paige Turco) and the Turtles to Feudal Japan in 1603. The sacred family relic’s carved handle resembles bone and contains the Japanese inscription “open wide the gates of time,” which, when uttered, sends the scepter’s holder back into time through the law of equal mass displacement. After swapping places with Lord Norinaga’s (Sab Shimono) honor guards and his son, Kenshin (Henry Hayashi), the shellback gang have only 60 hours before the space-time continuum will be out of phase.
