This poor, banged-up, prop is an unknown medical device made for Dr. McCoy's Sickbay in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. This prop never made it on screen (at least as far as I can tell, it might show up in deleted footage one day or found in the background of some ultra, ultra HD print). It is currently known only through some obscure archive photos taken of the TMP medical props when they were new. This prop found its way to Richard A. Coyle who cobbled it into a Klingon-esque prop (repainting most of it). Coyle could not remember if the redressed prop was used in any production. I acquired the re-dressed prop from Coyle and eventually (carefully) extracted the original prop from the rather hideous cobbled together prop.
