The jacket has a heavy painted leather gauntlet attached to the end of each sleeve.
They are made of an ingeniously sewn red fabric that has a gold pattern that looks like reptile scales. It is thick and heavy with round ribs that stretch a bit. It was obviously artfully hand made. These were designed by Colleen Atwood the Academy Award winner in 2003 and 2006 for best costume design.
