Description

An original pair of FBI ID badges for Special Agents Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) from Chris Carter’s groundbreaking sci-fi drama The X-Files, one of the most influential television series ever made. Across the show’s run, Scully and Mulder brandished these credentials while investigating the X-Files, the FBI’s cases touching on the paranormal and unexplained, with the skeptical doctor and the true believer flashing their badges in morgues, military installations, and small towns hiding big secrets. The pairing is the heart of the series: the badge is the thin line of official authority the two agents carried into cases nobody at the Bureau wanted to touch. The Ids (used during seasons 3-8) consists of a pair of custom-made cardstock badges featuring the FBI graphic and affixed matte photographs of the characters, with their signatures in the space above. Both are inset in transparent plastic sleeves with plastic and metal clips at the top for affixing to a costume, and the Mulder ID is also laminated in plastic. The badges exhibit signs of use and wear, including some minor staining. The X-Files defined a generation of television, and the agents’ credentials are among the most intimate props a character can carry, worn on the body and seen in scene after scene. A matched Mulder and Scully pair keeps TV’s greatest partnership together, exactly as it should be.
