A patch used in the production of David Fincher’s 1992 sci-fi horror sequel, Alien 3. After escaping the Alien moon, Ellen Ripley’s (Sigourney Weaver) escape pod crash lands on prison planet Fiorina 161. Ripley soon discovers that she has bought along an unwelcome visitor and must once again defeat a deadly xenomorph alien.
This style of patch is seen on the Fiorina 161 prisoners throughout the film, most notably when Ripley enters the mess room and tries to thank Dillon (Charles S. Dutton) for his eulogy after he demands to get the other inmates to treat inmate Golic (Paul McGann) like an equal. Made from a red cotton, this circle shaped patch features the ‘Weyland-Yutani’ emblem and the numbers ‘161’ printed in white.
Markings have been applied all over the patch to give an intentional distressed look and the piece remains in very good production-used condition.
