Dr. Shannon coaxes a Sixer kid out of hiding in episode Runaway, with a promise of 'no shots, just light', showing the young girl this device. The scene is similar (too similar) to Ripley's first conversation with Newt in Aliens. The same device is seen again in later episodes, including use by Mandy Shannon while analyzing a DNA sample in Proof.
Painted resin and plastic finger cot device, with blue scanner illumination as seen onscreen activated by a microswitch inside the prop under the fingertip.
