Description

A CAMERON MITCHELL COSTUME FROM LES MISERABLES Twentieth Century-Fox, 1952. Designed by Dorothy Jeakins. Light brown cutaway coat with brown velvet collar, cuffs, and buttons, bearing an interior "Western Costume Co." label inscribed, "Cameron Mitchell / 16-2448-1" in typescript, with a "Western Costume Co." interior stamp. Mitchell's performance as Marius in this film version of Victor Hugo's classic novel finds him romancing Debra Paget as Cosette and playing opposite such stars as Sylvia Sidney and Michael Rennie. Directed by Lewis Milestone, the film is often compared favorably with the excellent 1935 version.
