This hat was screen worn by Mike Myers as the Cat in the Hat. It can be seen when the Cat and the children are in the S.L.O.W. car and they crash. An airbag/balloon inflates out of the top. The hat has a cut out in the back for the inflation device to attach and the inside of the hat is a hollow cylinder that held the airbag/balloon in place for the effect. The top of the hat flips open on a hinge and closes with two Velcro patches holding it closed. Measuring approximately 17 inches tall, this is the trademark hat worn by the Cat.This is the only airbag Hat made for the film . One of the cooolest instantly recognizable pieces I have in my collection .
