Description

"Evil Wears Many Faces" From the hit 2013 revival of the 1974 classic, here's a production made "Leatherface" mask. Throughout the series, the infamous killer Leatherface dons the skinned flesh of his victims which he wears as gruesome trophies that conceal his identity. With these masks, he typically dresses the faces with makeup to make him appear more feminine while shaping a jarring outward appearance that has haunted audiences for decades. In 2013, a decision was made to instead make the masks look older to match Leatherface's aging appearance. Concept artwork from the time depicts the character with macabre, deformed "old man" faces. What is left in the film leaves many fans divided, as the final product can only be described as wet looking, bloated, and sloppy, a look that many viewers found distracting. KNB EFX Group went through many iterations of the design before the two main designs were used, and countless "prototype" masks were made from silicone. These masks, though viewed as flawed by many, are undeniably detailed and intricate. Surviving from the production is this "victim" concept mask, complete with fake stage blood, hand punched hair, and thin threading adding to the haunting presentation that is described here. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Propabilia.
