original movie prop
Allo Allo (BBC Sitcom 1982-1992) - Arousing Suspicion (S8E1) - the original screen used prop coffin and battery from the opening scene, which sees Rene and the other cafe staff attempting to conceal a tank battery from the Germans. This coffin is an integral part of the scene which culminates in the cast attempting to revive Roger - a deceased parrot - using the tank battery, resulting in the parrot exploding. The prop coffin is constructed of wood, with a mechanism to the base that allowed a \'tank battery\' prop to be concealed within. During the filming, a member of the special effects crew was situated under a table and was responsible for hastily connecting the pyrotechnics during the scene. Some electrics remain, including the remnants of the original screen-blown pyro. Supplied with the original \'fake\' screen used prop tank battery from the same sequence. Coffin measures 75cm long. Provenance: our client made and operated this prop during production. It was retained once filming had ended. The scene featuring this prop can be viewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ImED6opi3w
