This green jumpsuit was worn by one of the background Chimpanzee worker characters in the 1972 motion picture Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, the fourth film in the Planet of the Apes series, starring Roddy McDowall. The size medium suit is constructed of medium weight cotton and has a zippered front with two pairs of pouch pockets at the breast and waistline with bright green zippers stitched to the top of each pocket.

This costume was the signature garment of all the Chimpanzee Characters as seen in the film and is identical to the garment worn by Mr. McDowall in his role as “Caesar”, the intelligent offspring of Cornelius and Zira, who leads his fellow simian workers in a revolt against their human masters.

This garment was altered for use on the production by Western Costume Company and is in good screen worn condition with minor evidence of wear from its use in the film and possible subsequent productions. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
