"Splay Claws" 

Screen worn by Hugh Jackman!  

This single set of claws (three blades, one handle) was the backup set used in the train splitting scene in X Men. Now here is the interesting part...the handle and wire parts were worn by Hugh Jackman threw most of the movie...they were screen worn. Here is the other interesting fact about these extremely rare claws. The blades are very special. They were made from two polycarbonate blades that were bonded together so they would be longer than normal. This was done to emphasize the longer length. They were specially engraved then metalized and silver dusted to knock down the sheen. The blades were made for one and only one scene in the movie. So again to explain the blades were not screen used but the handle and wires were screen worn.

Note : The handle was used by Hugh Jackman. FX foam around wires to protect Hugh's fingers when claws where splayed out. Handle stamped on top with the FX Smith Logo.
