Wanted, Wesley's (James McAvoy) Modified Rubber Beretta

Wesley's (James Mcavoy) Stunt Beretta used in the 2008 action film Wanted. When Gibson discovers that the father he never knew was a professional assassin and is invited to join his father's killing society, he enters a world of serious action and fire power. This style of weapon is given to him by the leader of The Fraternity, Sloan (Morgan Freeman), early on, and retrives it from its hiding place in the toilet towards the end of the movie. This particular prop was used when it was unnecessary or dangerous to use the hero live firing pistol – landing on a soft rubber prop leaves less damage than a lump of steel.

The design was modified for the movie to feature intricate wooden plating on the grip which on this has been exchanged for a high friction paint, and a short compensator fixed to the end of the barrel. The mould is incredibly detailed and is in a well used condition from its time on the action packed set yet still in sound condition, measuring 24cm x 14cm (9.5” x 5.5”)
