The reptilian humanoid Weequays were employed as mercenaries and henchmen throughout the galaxy, commonly by members of the Hutt syndicate. Jabba's man used a Sorosuub BD-1 Cutter vibro-ax, an advanced melee weapon boasting a hollow durasteel shaft, vibration dampeners, and quick-release blade, to prod Luke Skywalker into the mouth of the Great Pit of Carkoon.

The original props were built from numerous found items, including a Supermax hair dryer, Softflow soaker, Danco dishwasher adapter, Yamaha model parts, diesel glow plug, and the front piece off a Kenner Star Wars Han Solo Blaster. This resin, plastic, aluminum, and copper pipe replica is built from some original parts and some high quality casts of original parts.
