In fourth season episode Kir'Shara, which concludes both the Vulcan/Andorian conflict and Syrrannite story arcs, Vulcan High Command Minister Kuvak uses this weapon to put an end to Administrator V'las' plans of conquest and suppression (and also saves the Enterprise from imminent destruction at the hands of the Vulcan fleet.)
