Fiberglass Mid Grade Phasers had separate handles until now. I’ve remastered these so (a) the handle and body of the P2 is one part, (b) the P1 has the correct lines and (c) several other details match the known surviving Mid Grades.
This reproduced prop is made of fiberglass like the 1960’s original. No plastic or resin copy can reproduce that same accurate feeling “in-the-hand”, nor take the vintage paint finishes in quite the same way.
The nozzle was manually machined after extensive study. Custom metal; side dial, top dial, thumbwheel with coined edge, trigger stud and, solid brass release pin, were all hand crafted.
Made of Black pigmented fiberglass base, like the original screen props, P2 painted Krylon Shadow Gray, P1 painted Zylonite Dark Grey, P2 handle painted white first then in custom lacquer to match the "Turnabout Intruder" silver semi-metallic. Machined metal is slightly weathered for an authentic 1968 vintage appearance. The Krylon and Zylonite paint is widely accepted as “screen used” and as such was applied and used on the reproduction.
