Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The "One Ring" of Sauron
replica movie prop
The "One Ring" was created by the Dark Lord Sauron in order to gain dominion over the free peoples of Middle-earth. He forged it himself in the fires of Mount Doom, and it could only be destroyed by throwing it back into the pit of the volcanic mountain from whence it had come. Its identity could be determined by a simple, (though little-known) test: when placed in a fire, it displayed a fiery inscription in the Black Speech of Mordor: "Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them". This is the "Master Replicas" version of the ring and finger after it had been severed from Sauron's hand.
