Heroes : Season 2 Takezo Kensei decoy armor worn by actor Darryl Chan as the Decoy / Fake Kensei .. there were only ever 5 of these Kensei armors used and seen on screen on Heroes . the first armor was seen in the last episode of season 1 called How to Stop an Exploding Man , that armor was a rental from a prop house called Premiere Props and was also rerented for used for an Entertainment Weekly cover shoot with Masi Oka , it was then sold at auction by the prop house .
In season 2 of Heroes production purchashed 4 exact armors from Japan from the same vendor that Premiere Props purchased the original armor from that was used in the first season . 1 armor for wear by David Anders as Takezo Kensei / Adam Monroe , 1 armor for use by Masi Oka , 1 armor for use as the Decoy / Fake Kensei worn by Darryl Chan , and 1 armor for use by the stunt man that falls from the horse as the Decoy / Fake Kensei .. after season 2 was done filming wardrobe pieced out all 4 sets of armors for storage , all helmets went into one box , all shin guards went into one box, all medalions where removed from the helmets and went into a box. all parts from all 4 armors were pulled apart and stored in seperate boxes with like items . then at the beginning of season 4 there was a need to have a Kensei Armor for use as set dressing at the Nakamura building office set on the Sunset Gower lot in Hollywood CA , wardrobe simply pulled one example of each part of the armor needed to make a complete armor set for use as setdressing with no care as to what pieces belogned to what charecer , this is that armor.. it is a Frankenstein piece , a mish mash Kensei armor made up of screen used Kensei armor pieces .. the Helmet is either the stunt or the Decoy Kensei , the chest and back is the Decoy Kensei , the arms and hip armor are the Decoy Kensei, the shin guards and boots are Masi Okas , the belt is David Ander and shows signed of blood still on it .. the undersuit is also the bloody David Anders costume.. most of this armor is the Decoy Kensei , so i have labled this lot as the Decoy Kensie armor . the remaing 3 Kensei armors used on Heroes were sold at auction shortly after the show was cancelled in 3 seperate lots , all 3 of those lots are also Frankenstein Kensei pieces made up of screen used armors.. ofthe 5 Kensei armors used on Heroes the only complete screen used one that is all together as seen on screen is the armor from the first season that was sold by Premiere Props .
