This is not a prop-replica, but a really nice toy communicator.  It is full-scale and features a metal antenna.  Produced by IPI, this communicator was on the market long before DST released their 'talking' unit and is now a fairly rare item.  The  unit chirps and the LEDs flash when the antenna is flipped open.  The IPI version has some interesting, if not accurate  features - the moire conceals a small digital watch, and the plate on which the moire rests flips up to reveal a small  calculator.  The most interesting feature is the 'talking' system - instead of pre-recorded 'celeb voices' the unit allows you to record your own messages and play them back on-demand.
