TITANIC - ORIGINAL J. PETERMAN PROTOTYPE REPRODUCTION of “ROSE’S CRYSTAL EVENING BAG”. This one-of-a-kind item was made ahead of the Crystal Evening Bags in their final form. The design of the bag was later altered from what is seen here for its extremely limited production. This prototype bag was changed to bring it more in-line with the other three bags in the range. This prototype bag is smaller than the production bag and has gold material inside (as opposed to black), and different beading. This item was meant to be part of Rose’s Evening Gown Ensemble (a.k.a. 'The Dinner Dress'): 1) Rose’s Coral & Black Evening Gown; 2) Rose’s Crystal Evening Bag; and 3) Rose’s Black Satin Shoes. The TITANIC Movie Legends range of costume reproductions was officially sanctioned by 20th Century Fox and released by the J. Peterman Co. – just before they went into liquidation. This meant that the already limited range would see no new tomorrow. The entire range was snapped-up quickly and became instant collector’s items in their own right – ‘originals of originals’, so to speak. Our collection includes nearly all the character costumes produced in the range. All remain a highly-prized collectibles.
