The Twilight Zone, THE TWILIGHT ZONE (1959)- PROP SAILOR'S CAP 'Passage On The Lady Anne' (#119) Rod Serling

original movie costume

Original deck hand HAT used on the TV classic THE TWILIGHT ZONE (1963) episode #119 "PASSAGE ON THE LADY ANNE", which concerns a young couple who go on a night time cruise aboard the ocean liner the Lady Anne to rekindle their troubled marriage. After realizing all aboard are elderly passengers, they are forced to leave on a life boat, as the liner is the passage to the great beyond and it is not their time. The Lady Anne sails off into the fog of The Twilight Zone. The episode stars several instantly recognizable character actors, including Alan Napier (Alfred from TV's BATMAN) as the captain (below left pic), Wilfred Hyde-White, Joyce Van Patten, abd Cecil Kellaway. Authentic TWILIGHT ZONE props and wardrobe are rare. This hat was used in at least two other "vintage" productions (earlier than TZ) because there are two other name ribbons under the LADY ANNE ribbon, one being "H.M.S. MINER" (production unknown).
I believe there were only a couple of these hats used/made, as the same deck hands are seen repeatedly in the episode. Note that in the center shot of the hat (yellow arrow) there is a wrinkle in the white material over the letter "E" in ANNE. The same wrinkle is still in the hat, as seen in the top shot of the prop.
