Initially developed by the Tok'ra, who planned to assassinate the remaining Goa'uld System Lords after the deaths of Apophis and Cronus, the symbiote poison works by combining two liquids, releasing a toxic gas which is almost instantaneously fatal to Goa'uld, Tok'ra, and Jaffa symbiotes, with their hosts dying moments later. The original Tok'ra weapon is seen in fifth season episode Summit, while this heavily modified and more powerful (but also bulkier) Tau'ri delivery system isn't seen until eighth season episode Endgame, when the interplanetary terrorist group The Trust uses it to indiscriminately attack both Goa'uld and Free Jaffa worlds via chemical rocket attacks through a stolen Stargate.
