This soldier's shield was used during the filming of the 1927 version of King of Kings that was directed by Cecil B. DeMille. The film starred H.B. Warner, Dorothy Cummings, and Ernest Torrence. In 1927, this blockbuster film cost $2.5M to produce. The shield was purchased at a Christie's auction in London. The second photo shows the shield in use during the film...shield is on the right.
