In the dystopian floating city-state of Columbia, set in an alternate history during the era of American Exceptionialism, the US Dollar has been replaced with this currency, the Silver Eagle. Booker DeWitt needs to collect some coin if he's going to survive in the hostile city; fortunately his new charge Elizabeth helps him find more money, as well as ammo and medkits.

One side of each Silver Eagle bears the symbols of the American Founding Fathers - the Scroll for Thomas Jefferson, the Sword for George Washington, and the Key symbolizing Benjamin Franklin. The opposite side carries an image of the angel Columbia, whom city founder Zachary Comstock proclaimed had appeared to him in visions and guided his construction of the floating metropolis.
