Robin Hood, Shire of Nottingham Tax Sheets & Production Paperwork
original movie prop
A set of Tax sheets and production paperwork from the 2010 Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe movie Robin Hood. One of the tax sheets is clearly seen being written when Godfrey (Mark Strong) begins plundering the northern lands, starting in Barnsdale and ending up in the city of York, as part of an insert montage showing the sheer volume of destruction he is causing. This screen matched sheet is made from an off white rip-proof paper roughly cut, with a handwritten list of ‘Shire of Nottingham’ Estates, their value, and how much tax is paid. The two other sheets are a slightly different style much more distressed but feature similar information, and possibly created as prototypes/practice papers as they are not clearly seen. Each measures 34cm x 22cm (13.5” x 8.75”).
Interestingly, also included is an ‘Insert Call Sheet’ dated 18th Jan 2010, which as well as including risk assessments has a set of illustrated instructions for the shoot that includes the plundering insert, and a second updated version with instruction from Ridley Scott (RS). A great prop from the movie as well as a chance to get a different look behind the scenes of the movie.
