During the conclusion of Inglourious Basterds (2009), sticks of dynamite can be seen around the ankles of Sgt. Donnie Donowitz (Eli Roth) and Pfc. Omar Ulmer (Omar Doom) as they climb the staircase at the theatre. These explosive devices were used by The Basterds during Operation Kino to blow up the Le Gamaar Cinema, in order to assassinate Adolf Hitler, Joseph Goebbels and most of the German High Command.
In one shot, we see Donowitz and Omar seated in the theatre with the bombs strapped to their ankles. Further, in the second trailer of the film, we see an unknown person pressing the dial detonator, activating the bomb in what appears to be a dark room with its bare fingers, scene not present in the film. Since Aldo, the only member of the group that doesnt wear gloves, didnt have his bomb activated when it was removed from him by the security, the only other person that could and would have activated the detonator was Landa, when he placed Aldos bomb under Hitler and Goebbels chair, as the auditorium was dark when that happened.
In the actual scene where Landa places the bomb on the opera box floor and pushes it under Hitlers chair, we see that the dial detonator was not moving, meaning the bomb was not armed yet. However, in the very next scene, the dial is seen moving, even though to activate the detonator you have to press the arming button, as seen in the trailer.
