Highlander: The Series Season 1&2 katana

This is the original Highlander: The Series katana as seen in Season 1 and most of season 2. First seen in the pilot episode "The Gathering" and last seen in episode 39 "Warmonger" in late season 2. At that time a deal was made with Marto of Spain to mass produce a commercial "licensed" version. In episode 40 "Pharaoh's Daughter", late in season 2, the newly designed sword marketed as "The Sword of the Dragon" appeared on screen for the first time.

This is a custom made replica of the Highlander: The Series Season 1&2 katana Made by Daryl Kyle of Texas Steel Props and Replicas. Built with the exact same parts as the original. The Tsuka (handle) is made of carbon kevlar and cast from the original handle designed by Stephen Geaghan and made for the T.V. series by Sal D'Aquila. The tsuba (handguard) is the Marto Rooster Tsuba. The blade and habaki (blade's collar) are also Marto. The stainless steel blade is a Marto Tachi with a 1.5 inch sori (curve) with its tang extended to 11 inches making it Full Tang and double pinned into the tsuka(handle) by two hidden mekugi pins that go through the blade's tang.
