Oriiginal screen used Staffordshire dog statue used in the George Sidney directed musical comedy film \'Anchors Aweigh\' (1945) starring Frank Sinatra, Kathryn Grayson, and Gene Kelly, about two sailors that go on a four-day shore leave in Hollywood, meet a young boy and his aunt, an aspiring young singer, and the sailors try to help her get an audition at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. In addition to a live-action Kelly dancing with Jerry Mouse, the cartoon mouse of the Tom and Jerry series, the film also features José Iturbi, Pamela Britton, Dean Stockwell, and Sharon McManus.
UPDATE--This Dog statue has also been found in the Thin man tv show from 1958 season 1 episode 23 in scenes with Robby the Robot from Forbidden planet.
