Xena: Warrior Princess, Salmoneus’ robe

Robert Trebor’s screen-matched, screen-worn Salmoneus robe from season 1, episode 11: “The Black Wolf.” During my research into this costume, I discovered that two lookalike costumes were used to shoot the episode, both worn by Trebor. This one is screen-matched to the scene in Xerxes’ dungeon during which Salmoneus is collecting belts from other prisoners at Xena’s request. It again appears in the scene where Salmoneus and Gabrielle have a discreet conversation as the chained prisoners walk out for Xerxes’ planned public execution of the Black Wolf. There’s a break in the chevron-like pattern on the collar ornamentation where a green chevron and a red chevron intersect going opposite directions.
