From the 1970 MGM Studio Auction, as seen used
in "Julius Caesar - 1953" and "Quo Vadis - 1951"
and maybe in earlier movies too. Thunderbolts
of the Roman God Jupiter, featured as shield
decoration emblems on Roman soldier's shields.
