Warehouse 13, Rhodes Bowl Artifact
original movie prop
In fourth season episode Endless Wonder, something is making people in South Bend start growing unevenly, gradually at first, then faster, such that the soft tissues are painfully torn as the bones enlarge, threatening death. Myka and Pete track the victims to a Mediterranean cooking class with a chef who collects antique cooking utensils. Hiding in plain sight among hundreds of pieces of equipment, this simple marble bowl eventually catches Myka's attention when she realizes that it's been carved from the remnants of the Colossus of Rhodes.
The Colossus of Rhodes, an immense statue of the Greek god Helios, was erected by the people of Rhodes in celebration of their successful defense of the city from a siege by Cyprus. Although considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Colossus only survived for 56 years before being destroyed in an earthquake. Also, it wasn't made of marble (although the huge pedestal that it stood on was.)
Large faux-marble hard plastic mortar, with the word 'Rhodes' inscribed in Greek on the bottom. Marbling pattern screen matches in all closeup and mid distance shots.
