Eureka, Recalibration Device
original movie prop
The key prop in a multi-episode story from the second season, this little device was first surreptitiously planted near Global Dynamics researcher Kim Anderson's computer by Consortium spy Beverly Barlowe, causing the console to give false readouts during Global's first attempt to sample 'The Artifact', resulting in catastrophe (including Kim's death). Later discovered by Henry Deacon during his investigation into the tragedy.
Each device is about the diameter of a quarter, with microcircuits mounted on a plastic base, and a transparent resin dome. The circuits on one of the devices have been artificially corroded by the propmaker, while those on the second were left pristine; the aged one is easily screen-matched to the close-up of the device as held by Henry in the episode Games People Play.
