Star Wars: A New Hope, RALPH MCQUARRIE CONCEPT R2

This is my full sized concept R2D2 based on the pre-production sketches by Ralph Mcquarrie as seen in the Star Wars Chronicles book. Theres 3 separate design sketches found in the book which I tied together to produce a prop replica that respects as much of each design as possible. The dome is a reworked regular 18inch dia dome so its as faithful to full size as I can do. Its very different to the final R2 design so please take a look at your copy of the chronicles book to see where it started.
As you can see it its near completion, it just requires final assembly and a paint scheme that will follow early conceptual paintings giving it a light sand weathering. Theres alot more pics of this on my site, all of which will be replaced with better ones as soon as possible. Please take time to have a look....
