Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Quark’s Dabo Chips
made from scratch movie prop
This is a set of replica Quark’s Dabo Chips as seen on Star Trek: DS9. These are the screen-accurate, un-beveled version of the Dabo Chips (beveled versions were also used on-screen). The chips are made from 3/16” red, green, yellow, and blue acrylic with painted metallic gold, resin insert "coins" featuring, in bas-relief, Quark’s face, "Quark’s" in English and Ferengi lettering. I drew up the files myself for the laser cutting of the acrylic and molded/cast original production-made inserts. These Dabo Chips measure 1.75" x 1.5". Original conceptional design for DS9 was by John Eaves.
Description from Memory Alpha: “Dabo was a roulette-style game of chance developed by the Ferengi. When one won, it was customary to shout "Dabo!" Given the "profit at any price" philosophy of the Ferengi, it was not uncommon to find that a dabo table had been rigged.”
